REMOTE SENSING AND GIS DIRECTORATE

Geo-referencing mosaicing, processing and classification of digital images from
satellite and aerial photos for different land use land cover studies,
environmental degradation, geological, agriculture, forest, urban,
hydrological, soil, national park, etc. studies using ERDAS Imagine, Arcinfo
ArcGIS, MapInfo, ILWIS, IDRISI etc.
- Consulting users on the appropriate application of remote sensing data
- Short term training for users on practical application of remote sensing and image processing
- Processing and preparing satellite imageries for topographic map revision
- Information extraction for DTM generation, image classification and calculation of surface parameter.
- Research works on the application of remote sensing and image processing.
- Ground data collection employing GPS and other field's equipment.
- Providing recent satellite image for the users
- overall digital image processing
